Distribution of bursary application forms at Wema Village with clear guidance that the entire application process is free and accessible at the village level.
The MCA Office conducted the distribution of bursary application forms at Wema Village as part of efforts to ensure that education support reaches deserving students within the community.
During the exercise, residents were informed that all bursary application services have been brought directly to the village level to make the process easier and more accessible for everyone. Community members were assured that no one should spend even a single cent during the bursary application process. This includes printing of forms and photocopying of required documents, which will all be facilitated locally without any charges.
Residents were also advised not to incur transport costs by traveling to Minjila or other centers to submit applications. Instead, completed bursary forms can simply be submitted through village administration offices, including the Village Headman, Chief, or Sub-Chief offices, where they will be collected and forwarded through the proper channels.
Additionally, plans are underway to improve the bursary application system further. From the next bursary cycle, an online application portal will be introduced to allow applicants to apply and submit their forms digitally. This will especially assist students and parents who may be outside Garsen North Ward but still qualify for support. Through the portal, applicants will be able to apply and submit their applications directly using their mobile phones without any expenses.
This initiative reflects the commitment of the MCA Office to ensure fairness, transparency, and equal access to education support for all deserving students in the ward.
